What is Magic?

Magic… What is magic to you?

When I was a little girl, very little, the first time I felt magic was when I would spin around in circles super fast with my arms out and my head tilted to the side and my eyes closed. The butterflies in my stomach felt like the most magical feeling in the world. I don’t think I ever got dizzy. But the energy made me feel like I could fly.

Obviously when I was younger I thought I was just playing and having fun. But now I knew it was something more. A little piece of the stepping stone on the path the led me to where I am today. Because for everyone who says magic isn’t real, just means they are not looking through the right lens.

Magic is everywhere. It is not only divination, or doing spells, rituals, celebrations, etc. Magic is in the wind blowing through the trees, in the leaves being carried by the flowing rivers. By your favorite song coming on the radio at the right moment, just when you needed to hear it. To something as simple as finding a lucky penny on the ground. Magic comes in every size, big and small.

My favorite kind of magic has always been spoken magic, manifestation. “Speaking things into existence.” Or out. I believe the tongue is one of the most powerful tools in existence. And with it, manifesting, manifestation, is what makes up so much of every practitioners rituals. It is definitely mine. But how do I know that?? How do I know magic is real??

Well many years ago, when I first saw my husband walking into the club I was working at, at the time, the first thing I said to myself when I saw him was “I’m going to marry him”….. so cliche I knowwww, but it did happen…. Obviously. But seriously, thinking back to when I was younger probably 10 or 11, I saw Practical Magic and I thought I could write my true love into existence. But with my list of wants of a boy, the only thing I could remember writing was his name and GUESS WHAT THE NAME WAS THAT I WROTE……… Brad. That’s my husbands name. So uncanny right? When I told my husband that I spoke him into my existence, he laughed it off a bit but now he says I used woo woo hoo doo magic on him……. He’s not really wrong. This isn’t my only experience either. I have so many more I will talk about through my post. This is just one of many.

I have been practicing my craft for almost 6 years now and looking back on my whole life; so many small pieces that never made sense before are all finally coming together. That is also magic. So many coincidences are not just coincidences. I just wasn’t looking through the right lens until just recently.

Magic is everywhere.
