It’s that time of year again… The sun is back. The cold weather is starting to leave. We’ll be reaching into the time of Ostara soon and all I can do is not wait. I have so many plans for the next couple months but before I can jump into something new I have to get rid of something old and this is the time to do it.
Winter was a great time to relax but it is time to start preparing for the warmer seasons, which means cleaning, de-cluttering, cleansing and refreshing, recycling and restoring for spring.
So with that, here are some tips and ideas I’ve been using so far this last month to start spring cleaning:
- CLOTHES: CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET. But with cleaning out your closet my biggest tip is to FIRST LOOK AT WHAT YOU WOULD RE-WEAR. Reusing and rewearing something from the year before is still so fucking cool. I have so many pieces from last spring/ summer that I still wear and will wear again this year and next year. Work with pieces you would rewear again this season and declutter what you won’t. I cannot stress that enough.
- DECLUTTER, DONATE, ROTATE: when you’re going through your house and getting rid of anything you won’t use or wear anymore, I highly suggest to try donating and rotating anything through friends, family, community. I just got a huge bag of clothes not too long ago from one of my bestfriends that she was getting rid of and anything I didn’t wear or fit into I gave to some of my other friends instead of just trashing the rest. I do this with furniture too I go through my friends and give away any furniture I am getting rid of that of course is clean and sturdy enough to give. I have also received furniture from my friends who were getting rid of stuff they weren’t using anymore. Obviously don’t give something that is absolutely disgusting and trashed and probably wouldn’t last too much longer.
- CLEANSING: Obviously once it gets warm out, cleanse out the stagnant energy from your house. BUT also, spend your time meditating and cleanse out the stagnant energy from your body. If you do not regularly meditate, I highly suggest you do. I used to a lot years ago and I realized recently I need to meditate more regularly again.
- REFRESHING: Refresh your money bowl, clean your alters, clean your books, clean and dust off everything. Cleanse your wards. Refresh your wards. Refresh your sigils. Clean everything. I know during the winter I somehow manage to forget all of this time to time until spring hits. I even spent a good portion of my evening a couple days ago cleaning the trash out of the woods in my backyard. The earth will thank you.
Now obviously this does not need to be achieved in one day. Or one week. I tend to take a month to go through everything so definitely take your time. No rush for anything but be intentional in everything you do. It saves you time and definitely energy.
Blessed be. Ashley.
